About Your Coach, Jeff

For as long as I can remember, movement and the outdoors have been central to my life. Growing up in southern Maine, I spent my childhood exploring the woods, hiking, and swimming in the ocean. That love of adventure led me to the U.S. Naval Academy, where I earned a degree in aeronautical engineering before becoming a Naval Aviator and helicopter test pilot.

I spent over 13 years in the Navy, deploying overseas, instructing new pilots, and leading high-stakes flight test programs. I loved my career, but throughout my time in service I battled a series of injuries and systemic health challenges that slowly took away my ability to do the activities I loved. In the end, even just the small act of hiking up the hill behind my house could be overwhelming. This lasted until the end of 2018, when I was introduced to the Wim Hof Method of cold exposure and breathing. This wasn’t an overnight cure; however, it reminded me of what it was like to feel alive.

Over the next years, I explored many different healing modalities and practices. Through trials, lessons, and plenty of errors, I slowly built a path forward—one that wasn’t about avoiding movement but about building momentum. About meeting my body where it was and making small, consistent steps forward to return to the wilderness that journey not only led me towards recovery, but also to help others do the same.

Full Biography

Jeff Lindbom is a health and movement coach focused on helping people recovering from injury and illness build durability and resilience. Originally from southern Maine, Jeff graduated from high school as valedictorian of his class and captain of the lacrosse team. Jeff went on to earn a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering with merit from the U.S. Naval Academy. Following graduation, he reported to NAS Whiting Field where he earned his wings of gold as a Naval Aviator.

Jeff spent over 13 years in the US Navy as a helicopter pilot where he deployed overseas onboard an aircraft carrier in support of combat operations in Afghanistan, instructed new helicopter pilots, and served as a developmental test pilot after graduating from the US Naval Test Pilot School. During his time in the US Navy's only rotary wing flight test squadron, Jeff completed testing of a prototype aircraft, developed training procedures for entry into and recovery from Vortex Ring State - a dangerous aerodynamic phenomenon resulting in high rates of descent for helicopters, and led the System Performance Demonstration team evaluating competitor aircraft for the next generation helicopter trainer. Jeff received notable recognition for his work on testing a prototype aircraft and for leading the System Performance Demonstration team for the next generation helicopter trainer.

Despite reaching the pinnacle of his professional career and achieving his dream job - which he found deeply satisfying - Jeff was slowly forced to reckon with growing health challenges. Over his career, he suffered from injury after injury that didn't seem to heal. He lost his ability to do the activities that he loved in the outdoors. He tried to change, workout, and pursue answers through the military’s medical system, but it didn’t help. In the end, even just the small act of hiking up the hill behind his house seemed out of reach. This lasted until the end of 2018, when he was introduced to the Wim Hof method of cold exposure and breathing. This wasn’t an overnight cure; however, it reminded him of what it was like to feel alive. Since then, he has slowly been on an upward journey of regaining his strength, happiness, and the ability to do the outdoor things that truly are the foundation of his life.

He faced challenges including knee osteoarthritis, chronic elbow tendinosis, bilateral hip surgery, systemic health issues like mold and heavy metal toxicity, and chronic Lyme disease. He understands what it's like to feel trapped by physical limitations and unsure where to turn for help. Drawing from his own journey, he emphasizes the importance of taking agency over one's health and making small, incremental changes that add up over time. He is committed to being the empathetic coach that he wished he had during his toughest moments—helping clients navigate confusion, avoid common pitfalls, and regain their sense of purpose and physical capability. Through his work, Jeff aims to empower others to reclaim not just their health, but also their sense of purpose and joy in life.
