The Heart of the Rebuild to Roam App

Why the Rebuild to Roam assessment and trail maps exist, and how they help recovering hikers find their current stage and next steps.

Today I want to share one of the core features of the Rebuild to Roam app—the assessment and trail maps.

When I reflected on my own recovery journey and the experiences of people I have helped, I realized something: the path back to exploring the wilderness follows a predictable pattern. You can break it down into five distinct stages.

That insight led to the Rebuild to Roam Assessment—the first thing you'll take when you access the app. Your results map you to one of three personalized trail maps, each designed for where you are right now in your recovery.

Here's what each trail map includes:

🧭 Trail of Meaning prompts — Check-ins to clarify your vision and stay connected to what matters most

🫁 Body, breath, and nervous system resets — Tools to help you feel grounded and capable

🥾 Movement and mobility work — Building the foundation for confident movement

💪 Integrated strength training (on two of the three maps) — Progressive plans that meet you where you are

⛰️ Microadventure milestones — Small, achievable goals that rebuild your confidence step by step

These trail maps aren't just theoretical. They're born from my own experience. They're designed to meet you exactly where you are—and guide you forward from there.
